5 Reasons to Make a Friend, Get in the EPCOT DVC Lounge
Ever wonder what’s upstairs at the Imagination Pavilion at EPCOT?
Or maybe you’ve heard that it's the DVC Member Lounge but you’re not quite sure what to make of that? It all sounds so exclusive and mysterious.
But it turns out, you don’t have to shell out those DVC Member due to visit this lounge full of incredible views. I know because I’m a DVC Member and I’ve taken lots of guests up to the lounge for a much-needed break from the hectic crowds at EPCOT.
Every DVC Member can bring up to 5 guests up to the DVC Lounge at EPCOT!
Not all Members are aware of this little rule, so if you have a friend who is a DVC Member, let them know that you’d kindly like to sip a free soda with an exclusive view of Spaceship Earth and World Showcase. Here’s what else you can enjoy via the company of a generous friend:
1. Free Soda and Coffee
I’m from Ohio, so we call it “pop”, but I always type out “soda” to appeal to the masses in my writing. We also drank “cowboy coffee” with the grounds in it, but that’s another story. Either way, just call it “free” at the DVC Lounge.
There are three Coke Freestyle machines and a Keurig coffee maker in the lounge for you to enjoy. Use the Freestyle machines at your leisure, but for coffee, you’ll need to ask the desk Cast Member for a pod to put in the machine.
2. Free Snacks
Oreos and Cheez-Its are the snack du jour lately in the DVC Lounge. These aren’t laying out all the time… you’ll need to wait for a Cast Member to come around with a basket of treats to choose from.
3. It’s a Quiet, Air-Conditioned Space
Probably my favorite perk (okay, no, I love free snacks more) is the opportunity to get away from the crowds and heat of the park. I love bustling around between pavilions, but everyone needs a break. The lounge has absolutely incredible views of the park wrapped around a pool of comfy couches.
4. Video Games, iPads, and Computers
While you lounge, the kids can play. There are Disney Infinity consoles set up in one corner, which serves as the kids area. For those of us that sometimes run up to the Lounge to meet a deadline, there are also a few computer stations and tablets on every table, all hooked up to the WiFi.
5. A Spot to Recharge
After grabbing a seltzer water at the Freestyle machine and settling into a cool, comfy couch, I like to just… scroll on my phone. Simple, relaxing, and normalizing in the middle of a hectic Disney day. There are phone charging cords available and outlets if you brought your own.
I recently took WDW Magazine viewers on a full walk-through of the DVC Lounge to show off all of the freebies and relaxing opportunities:
